Aircraft Twirls Wildly into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline

A chopper flying above a well-attended southern California shoreline abruptly commenced twirling wildly, ultimately descending rapidly and plunging into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers observed.

Videos uploaded on social media capture the chopper beginning to twirl near the beach then falling in the direction of the perimeter of the coast, where it gets stuck amidst palms and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.

Emergency Response Information

The Huntington Beach fire department reported five persons were transported to a medical facility comprising a pair who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the crash on that day.

Three individuals on the street were injured. Specifics on their injuries were not yet released.

The cause of the crash was still under investigation.

Planned Function

Officials mentioned the aircraft was connected to an yearly “Cars and Copters” fundraising event planned for the next day.
