Homeland Security personnel have arrived in Charlotte as part of the federal government's growing campaign on unauthorized immigration, according to government announcements.

The operation, called "Charlotte's Web Operation", was announced on recently, with representatives stating that "illegal immigrants with criminal records" would be primary subjects in the urban area.

"Federal authorities are sending immigration officers to Charlotte to maintain public safety and remove dangerous individuals," a spokesperson announced.

City authorities, including Mayor of Charlotte Li Vyles, published a unified declaration criticising the campaign, saying it was causing "unwarranted anxiety and confusion" in the resident base.

Military-style vehicles and tactical squads could be deployed for the North Charlotte crackdown, according to internal government documents.

Several church members doing yard work at a local place of worship retreated to wooded areas when authorities descended, with an individual being taken into custody, according to witness statements.

"We believed the church was secure and nothing [was] gonna happen," a 15-year-old witness commented.

Since the presidential term renewal, government agencies have been dispatched to multiple cities including major metropolitan areas to fulfill the commitment of "the largest deportation programme" in the nation's records.

The DHS said they are conducting the initiative because local authorities has not complied with the around 1,400 ICE persons held, meaning they had been released due to "protective measures".
