Paramount Skydance Plans to Cut Nearly 2,000 American Positions – Report

Paramount Skydance will start large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 American roles as part of a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn under top executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August worth $8.4bn.

Additional overseas workforce reductions are expected, with the company intending to disclose complete information during its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.

Earlier reports stated the firm planned to eliminate from 2,000 and 3,000 roles before the start of November.

By December 2024, the company retained about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 project-based staff.

The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
